Discover Wild Gathering
Wild Gathering is a Community Interest Company based in West Sussex, founded in 2020 in response to the Covid pandemic. Recognizing the growing disconnection from nature, self, and community, we aim to offer opportunities for individuals to reconnect with the natural world and, in turn, enhance their wellbeing.
Our mission is to create meaningful experiences that support mental, emotional, and physical health through immersive, nature-based activities. By fostering a deeper connection to the natural world, we help people cultivate a sense of belonging and wellbeing.
We offer a diverse range of nature connection activities, including mindful walks, seasonal NatureWell groups, staff well-being programmes, and one-on-one ecotherapy sessions. All of our offerings include mindfulness and creative practices in nature, encouraging participants to explore their relationship with themselves, others, and the more-than-human world.
Wild Gathering was a proud partner in the Green Social Prescribing "Test and Learn" site in Surrey. Through this collaboration, we delivered NatureWell courses to NHS staff, supporting their wellbeing. Additionally, we trained NHS staff to become NatureWell trainers, empowering them to share the benefits of nature connection within their teams.
Our work is informed by the Five Pathways to Nature Connectedness, a framework developed by the University of Derby. You can read more about it here: Link. Our group work program, NatureWell, is an evidence-based approach designed by the Natural Academy to support health and well-being. Learn more about NatureWell here: Link.
We work predominantly in the South East.
‘Wild Gathering has helped me reconnect to nature. The walks in green spaces and groups in community gardens are more powerful and better than any medication I have ever been prescribed’.
